I have posted this on the home cooking board and received no responses. I have since bought two more mangos with the same white gray areas in the flesh.What?
Just cut off those bits, all the way to the seed if need be. I think it's a ripening glitch so that bit is inedible anyway. The rest of the mango should be fine though may spoil quicker as a whole.
just trim out those spots and eat the rest. it happens as a result of extreme changes in temperature or moisture...nothing to worry about.
