New Japanese Restaurant in Calgary - Ki
Visted Ki in Calgary on Thursday night - first night open to invited guests. Its on 4th beside the Keg/Westin. Beautiful location and great food. Would highly recommend. Best dishes...Toro Tower (keep in mind its a very small tower - well not a tower exactly), Beef Maki (awesome) and the Duck Confit salad (incredible). Would pass on Shrimp and Scallops with mango sauce (nothing special). Its a large location so I hope they do well.

The description (for Calgary) they put on OpenTable:
"Ki Modern Japanese & Bar offers an exceptional menu of classic and contemporary Asian fare. In the stunning new Jamieson Building, close to shopping, major hotels and offices, Ki promises a variety of experiences.
Guests may choose from an extensive selection of sushi, sashimi, makimono and kushiyaki, as well as Ki's own signature hot and cold plates.
Wine and sake lists are designed to complement the cuisine and servers play guides through a relaxed, interactive and intriguing experience. Whether in the dining room, at the sushi bar, in the spectacular lounge, or people-watching on the sunny patio, Ki promises to be one of Calgary's most unique and dynamic dining destinations."
Was also there on Thursday evening and found the space remarkable. Efficient service and great cocktail menu. The food was amazing, my favorites were the ultra light tempura shrimp with wasabi mayo, and the rice & shrimp makimonos. We ate a bunch of other amazing dishes, and not one was less than great. Will be back, can't wait to see the patio come together.
