Black Forest Cake
Hey folks,
I was wondering which restaurants/cafes (in the city) served a good black forest cake? I know Brauhaus Schmidt would be the obvious suggestion, but the cake there was dry and bland.
I'm imagining a cake that's boozy with lots of fresh cream and a giant kirsch dipped cherry. Any and all suggestions, appreciated, many thanks,

The first place that came to mind was not in the city, but out in the King of Prussia area... Andy's in Bridgeport. Small place run by a husband and wife team that serves standard diner food along with rotating german specialties. She is CIA trained and does all the baking for the diner, and makes a good linzer torte, apfelstrudel, and Schwarzwaelder Kirschtorte.

In the city, I have to think that there is at least one bakery in the Northeast that still does really good German baked goods. Perhaps someone else on the board has some suggestions.
