Lunch between Halifax & Digby

IronStomach Apr 23, 2011 09:45 AM

I will be taking the Bay Ferry from Saint John to Digby in June, then going to Halifax. I would much appreciate pointers to places where I can have a decent lunch either in Digby, in Halifax, or somewhere in between the 2 cities.

BTW, I have already booked dinner at Fid Resto while in Halifax, more suggestions will be most welcomed. Thanks!

I can't think of anything to recommend in Digby, so keep driving. Depending on traffic, it's at least 2 hours to Halifax. Depending on when you get hungry, I suggest Union Street Cafe in Berwick, Port Pub in Port Williams, Ivy Deck Bistro in Wolfville or Cocoa Pesto at the Woodshire Inn in Windsor.

Pearle's in Paradise of course! Should be open now, I think.

Roadside take out stand with awesome burgers and fried clams. Haddie bits too.
Coming from Digby, take the Bridgetown exit and head towards Middleton. It's on the left after about 3 to 5 minutes. Just stop and ask, everyone will now where it is. Been going for years. Still great.

hate to see Digby sloughed off. The Boardwalk on main street has excellent bistro food, and O'Neil's fish market and restaurant does what a fish market should: prepare great seafood (and fruit pies).
