We are visiting KC MO next week as we may be spending much, much more time there in the future. One of the best things in our current lives is our organic, local farmers market and box scheme. We've really enjoy the quality of produce from it. Are there any in KCMO?

  1. Go to the City Market in the River Market area. Great market, fresh, cheap produce and bread from locals.

    1. Here are a couple of links for sites with info on CSAs and organic farmers markets. Of that list I've only been to the Westport FM and it only had a handful of vendors. I don't think the list of CSA is exclusively organic so you'll have to do some digging.

By far the largest farmers market is the City Market, which has several rows of vendors in a large square surrounded by permanent shops/restaurants. It's certainly a great place to visit and shop, but it is not exclusively organic nor local. You can certainly find that, but they are just mixed in with other vendors. You'll see lots of the vendors have trucks backed right up to the stalls that are clearly just ordinary produce that is sold to grocery stores, restaurants etc. Same thing goes for the produce vendors on the perimeter shops.
