Looking for a great dinner restaurant in the Chelmsford area
Hi Hounds,
We're meeting my college roommate & her husband for dinner soon, & the halfway point is around Chelmsford. Any suggestions? We all enjoy all types of food. Perhaps a quiet place conducive to conversation.
Thanks so much,

Feng Shui and Moonstones are average at best. Try Pho 88 or venture into Lowell for some authentic Asian food.
I went to Moonstones last night with the wife and the cocktails were simply horrible and the service at the bar was non existent. I dont get it, this place touts there "Moonbar" and they can't take the time or effort to staff it with competent bartenders.

I agree with the Moonstones suggestion. REcently took a friend there for a girls night/birthday. We decided to sit in the bar and even though there was some sports on TV, we were able to linger and chat quite easily. We were not rushed at all. We did not venture off the small plates menu and all of it was great. We ordered a few things, finished a bottle of wine along with the small plates, ordered another and a few more snacks, then a few more snacks, it was a nice pace because we had not seen each other in a while and we just dilly dallied and were never rushed or felt the need to order more at any one time than we thought we wanted. 3 of us, two bottles of wine and several small plates with tip, just under $80, very nice way to while away a friday evening!

Cafe Madrid may be good for you, although I've only eaten one appetizer there, so I can't really comment on the rest of the menu. I know they serve more American food than Spanish these days, to cater to the locals.

Here is a link to a review I did under 'Boiled Egg' 1.5 years ago:

Feng Shui is quite tasty, and as I recall the atmosphere is fairly sedate.
My parents also frequent Moonstones, though I've never been there. For a truly Houndish meal, visit Good Thymes on Gorham Street in Lowell (on the Chelmsford line). It's a 1950s throwback with terrific American food.-----
