Looking for good eats in Midtown/Montrose for dinner tonight

Looking for good eats in Midtown/Montrose that won't break the bank tonight. What do you recommend?

I'm way late but 369 Oriental Bistro has the most amazing Americanized Chinese I've ever had. All the menu items of a Chinese buffet, but done very well.

Yeah, I totally missed this thread. I hope the OP found something satisfactory. There isn't much that I go all the way in to Montrose for anymore but One's a Meal over Niko Nikos, Calliope over BBs for met and I just happened to realize I had two meals in Montrose in this past week that were good - El Real, of course, and Nidda Thai. I'm just getting in to Thai and the Pad Prick Khing Chicken (stir fried chicken breast in red curry paste) is one of the two best dishes I've had so far. No coconut milk so it was a very hot dish.

What is meant by 'won't break the bank,' however depends on how big your bank is!

Imagine, Niko Niko was picked for one of the best outdoor dining experiences IN THE COUNTRY in this publication. Really?

Well some folks may scoff but I alway liked the Moussaka at Niko Nikos - cheep and cheerful.

I realize this is too late for the original poster, but ... I just went to Brasserie Max & Julie last night for the first time. Very charming, although service was pretty spotty. It wasn't crazy expensive and there were lots of tempting sounding options. I don't feel like I can truly rec it based upon one dinner, but the food was good, they had no problem with us lingering well past when the dessert was cleared, and the bill was quite reasonable.

Also Alison Cook has been raving about Xuco Xicana, the reworked El Patio in Midtown. Sounds like something worth checking out if you're back in the area.

So where did you end up? There are a plethora of good restaurants in that area.
