I wanted to make a chocolate pudding cake for my family for Easter. I have the basic ingredients needed to make a chocolate cake but I am wondering how I should go about adding the pudding. I don't have regular instant pudding, all I have is actual pudding cups.
Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated, and recipes would be awesome!!

Thanks so much in advance.

  1. I have no idea how to use pudding cups with cake, except to make a kind of crumbled chocolate cake and pudding trifle... however, I have made a cake that forms its own fudge sauce. It's called Brownie Pudding and here is a recipe if interested.

That is what I know as chocolate pudding cake, a mainstay as I was growing up.

    2. Our family version of pudding cake was to layer the chocolate pudding in a 9x13 glass pan and then top it with layers of fullsheet graham crackers, then another layer of pudding; another layer of grahams. Top the whole thing with the last bit of pudding and refrigerate for an hour or two until the crackers are soft enough to slice into servings. When my kids were young they liked a chocolate/vanilla pudding combo. I would imagine that removing the pudding from the cups and smearing it out would work just as well. How about testing a pyrex cups worth overnight and see how it goes.

      1. I'm not sure what Chocolate Pudding Cake is, but Ina Garten has a yummy recipe for Brownie Pudding...
