I'm going to be in the area tonight. Any recommendations appreciated.

  1. I'm fond of Bar Tabac, myself.

Agree on Bar Tabac if you keep it simple. Good burger. Frites. Decent beer selection. Usually pretty lively. Good neighborhood joint.

I concur on Bar Tabac. It's terrific. And you get fries and a salad with it. Perfect combination.

      2. DUBUQUE, at the bottom of the Court Street hill by West 9th Street and the BQE, has excellent juicy burgers (many varieties!) and frites done right...nice atmo and a worthy selection of local craft beers.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We went to Dubuque and had fabulous burgers. Really like the place. We'll be back.

        2. Wadie and Meg(sp.) on court is good too. But you are so close to 5th ave that you should just go over to Bonnies

          1. I know I'm too late to help the original poster, but if anyone else is looking, I love the burgers at Buttermilk Channel.
