European Mayo in NYC?

arielleeve Apr 22, 2011 06:11 AM

Does anyone know if there is a place in NYC where you can find imported European mayo? Not necessarily a particular brand or anything, but as I'm sure most people know, even the generic mayos in Europe are infinitely better than any American mayo. I know that in Greenpoint you can find Polish mayo, but I'm thinking more along the lines of French/western European stuff.

Check out Marché du Sud on First Ave (62nd/63rd). It's a small restaurant serving simple French fare, with a small shop selling various French food products. Can't swear that they sell mayo (Amora?), but it's worth a call.

Many high-end groceries (and even some mid-range ones) sell the Delouis Fils brand, from Limoges.
