Take-out options near QA

Hi Seattle Hounds, I'm a new arrival here.

I need to develop a list of "go-to" places to pick up food to-go, or even delivery, and the #1 criterion is deliciousness, followed closely by convenience to Queen Anne (e.g., a combination of distance and parking availability).

A few weeks back we got some pretty righteous food at Tup Tim Thai, so it's on the list. Pizza seems easy to handle with Via Tribunali down the road. Malena's is OK, but seems more likely a lunch place than dinner. Would be interested in recs for other places to check out with bonus for ethnic options including Szechuan, Korean, Vietnamese, Greek, Middle Eastern etc.

I am aware that Eat Local is nearby but what I am really seeking is more standard restaurant choices, food that I don't have to heat myself. What other places should I have on the list for emergency weeknight food?

  1. I work in Lower Queen Anne and have gotten decent to pretty good take-out from the following:

    Tup Tim Thai
    Pagliacci
    The Signature (Vietnamese)
    Buckley's (Midwest pub food)

The 1st & Mercer Metropolitan Market has very good hot food options. The Upper Queen Anne store does not. Try not to get into the habit of eating at Dick's when you're sober.

Wanna Noodle isn't bad, but expensive for what you get. Than Brothers is a much better deal for pho than The Signature, but I have no idea if it works as take-out.

I do not recommend Obasan (if you must, go to Sam's) or Athina. Rice & Spice isn't terrible, but it's not as good as Tup. My co-workers occasionally order from Uptown China, but I have no direct experience (nor do I hear a lot of raves). There are no Sichuan or Korean places in the neighborhood.

    1. Bambino's delivers to QA. It's one of my favorite pizza places (along with Delancey and Flying Squirrel). That said, I've never had a delivery from them; just ate in the restaurant.
