Any Non-Fish/Reindeer/Bear Suggestions For Helsinki?

A search yielded a total of four posts on Helsinki, with the newest being about a year old. I'm scheduled to go there for about five days in June, and would like to try some decent restaurants. The posts I saw were all talking about restaurants specializing in fish or wild game, and neither of those things float my boat.

I love baked goods and sweets, and am pretty vanilla on protein -- Beef, chicken, turkey, pork, pasta or veggie options. I like Italian, Indian, Spanish, Mexican, Asian and most other cuisines, but would really like to try something Finnish if not one of the aforementioned (fish or game) dishes.

So, what are the real food finds in or around Helsinki? Any "don't miss" restaurants that are not fish/game places?

Thanks for any help.

  1. We were just there last month.I recommend Postres on the Esplanadi park. Very excellent and comparatively well priced for one of the most expensive places I've ever been to.
