Fresh Tuna?

Hi! I want to make a new tuna salad recipe I have. Does anyone know where I can get sushi-grade or at least very fresh tuna in DC or Arlington? Do I need to go to the fish market in Southeast?

Thanks!

I always thought 'sushi-grade' was a marketing tool.

Steve - me too, "Now Parasite and Worm Free!" which is a good thing, but who applies that label?

Similar marketing tools Chilean Sea Bass - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patagoni...
and Orange Roughy -is a relatively large deep-sea fish belonging to the slimehead family

I am convinced if a restaurant in this area started calling crockers - Chesapeake Grouper they would be booked every night

Harris-Teeter markets seem to always have "sashimi grade" tuna. The pieces are chunks rather than steaks, so they will probably work fine for salads.

Of course I'm not sure who grades the tuna, but it looks pretty good and tastes fresh.

Blacksalt is the way to go, but if you're looking for a back-up option I'd recommend the 14th and P whole foods.

Do you mean yellow fin tuna?
