100-150 People- Business Cocktail Reception- Downtown Core

Looking for a location downtown (south of Bloor, subway accessible) for 5:30-8:30 cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. We would want the whole location and a price point that is mid to high...not completely fancy pants though.

Looking at mid-May so patios are not desirable.

Any recommendations would be great.

Thank you for all of your respones. CN Tower sounds interesting as there will be people from the U.S. who may have not been to T.O. before. Does anyone have any experience in this area with the Tower? Not looking for 360 reviews just any feedback on a cocktail party setting.

I haven't been, but the Round Room at the Carlu looks like a great venue for a cocktail party.

I second the Carlu and nominate the CN Tower. They have party space for a few hundred up there and it's ... reasonable.

You might do better in terms of a price by picking a private club. The Albany or the National have large private rooms that aren't in everyday use that are close to the financial district.

On a separate note, I don't know if you are considering the fact that to do a full buyout of a restaurant during dinner hours is going to be expensive. So even if you are only planning a cocktail reception, your price tag may feel more like a dinner event. To avoid this, your best bet is go with a restaurant that has a separate event space (like Canoe).

Canoe is always a good option for business events. If you want something less formal, Origin is available for a full buyout and the capacity is 140.
