Polviho Azedo (Sour Tapioca Flour)
Any suggestions on where I can buy polviho azedo (sour tapioca flour) in the Metroplex? This is a key ingredient in making brazillian cheese popovers that are wonderful. The "regular" tapioca flour is generally considered to be sweet tapioca flour. The best popovers have a mix of both sweet and sour flour.
This Brazilian restaurant in Richardson has a number for its store in the upper right hand corner. You might call and see if they have it. There was a place called Betchee's in Richardson that sold the mix for the cheese bread and I think this may be the same place.
You might also try Terry's El Mariachi which are located around the metroplex. Although they have primarily Mexican foods, they do have items from Central and South America.
Or, you could always call one of the local churrascarias and see if they would sell some to you.
