What about Red Hat Bistro in Irvington, seeing that you want to be on the water and near Tarrytown.

Been there, not worth the money IMHO. Half Moon is a much more "watery" venue as well.

I had one lackluster lunch at Sunset Cove a few years ago. I haven't been back so I don't know if it's better or worse these days.

I have had lunch a few times at Striped Bass. It's pleasant to sit outside there on a nice day. Food is not great, the simpler you order the better. Service is usually pretty bad.

We went to Striped Bass a couple of years ago and weren't entirely thrilled. Sitting on the patio is kind of interesting as long as you're not overcome by the odors created by running boat motors. The food was not memorable. I think we had crabcakes and shrimp.

However, my husband's band played there a couple of weeks ago and everyone seemed to be having a blast. I think the scene later at night is better than the lunch or dinner scene.

I give Sunset Cove the slight edge in food and view, although haven't been in a while.

The probable reason for a lack of replies is that nobody wants to recommend EITHER place. You can do better in downtown Tarrytown.

I'd have to agree. Neither are so noteworthy in the " do go there" category. I am not sure what Menton1 has in mind, but could certainly do better...
