A restaurant to please those observing Passover/Seder and those observing veganism/vegetarianism.
Wow.
No, seriously, wow.
Anyway, the better half and I have invited his cousin and his new fiancee to dinner Saturday night after my *quick shameless plug* vegan baking preview, but seeing as how they are observing Passover and we are not, my brain-fu fails me for suggesting a restaurant. I would prefer to eat vegan, but have no problem whatsoever with making adjustments for the lovely couple we've invited out. Is there a magical restaurant to satisfy everyone in the party's desires? Or am I totally overthinking this?
Your genius is appreciated.

If they are not Kosher but more traditionalists then any place would be good that serves matzoh alongside or instead of bread. Usually these would be the more casual spots like for brunch: not so much for dinner that I know of so this will be an interesting column to hear suggestions.
I would think you could try Rib n Reef as their customer base probably would demand it feasible for them to do; Moishes for sure; but again you want vegetarian...

Ask your Passover folks what they will eat and not eat at this time - it really depends on a number of factors. Some will eat legumes & rice, for example, and some won't.
Depending on their answers, here are two ideas:
Indian. Love Moti Mehal for veggie & legume dishes with rice on the side - and Bombay Mahal makes dosas (flat crepes) that may not have wheat flour in them.
Or a Latin American restaurant like La Caretta for Salvadoran - lots of bean fillings for the vegans and corn-based pupusas & tamales.

I thought of Chinese too, but it is so rife with pork products, shellfish, and meat stocks that it might be a minefield for both parties. Perhaps the new Taiwanese vegetarian place?

re: kpzoo
I don't know, it's pretty easy to order off the chicken / beef / duck / vege & tofu menus at any cantonese & szechuan joint... why is shellfish or beef stock not allowed? I'm neither kosher nor observe passover (my family's at seder now, I'm ordering in!) but I never knew shellfish was off limits..? (gefilte fish is like the sponge of the sea afterall!)

re: kpzoo
Just went to the new Taiwanese place last night. It's called Su Shian Yuang and is at 420 Rachel Est. Small but nice inside. Great service and I enjoyed my meal (smoked soya bean slices with house sauce). Am considering for take out on Easter as brother in law is only non-vegetarian and I am sure this would pass in his book for ham....
