New Focaccia branch open in FiDi

The new Focaccia branch on First (at Market) was up and running (although not at full speed) when I walked out of my office for lunch today (there are entrances both on First and on the courtyard between 425 and 455 Market, behind the Starbucks).

It will be nice to have a better sandwich option than Specialties close to the office, and even better when they get the hot foods fully up to speed.

  1. Additionally, there's a farmer's market on Monday 12-530 p.m. in the courtyard (today was 1st day)

Not the courtyard I'm talking about (which I can see out my window). Where is it?

The courtyard on the First Street side of the complex (just a few steps south of the Focacia entrance on 1st St.) immediately south of 455 Mkt. building across from Jack in the Box). Didn't have time to walk through and see if the booths extended through to Fremont St.

The tomato grower was from Winters ($3.75/lb with an Opening Day special of $3.25) & had purple cherokees; the orchid grower, from Watsonville had offerings ranging from $6 to $8.

Right. I realized when I walked out of the building that your probably meant the adjacent courtyard, and then I saw signs and a few vendors still hanging around. Great resource!

    2. This is near my office too. Based on the Sacramento St. location, any favorites and/or must-avoids on the menu?

The roast chicken and mashed potatoes, when they get the hot side going, and the roast beef. Almost worth a trip downtown.
