Nicholas Chefs table

Considering reserving the Chefs table for a special evening. Has anyone been recently?

Just a quick thought on this. While dinner at the chefs table was memorable, I remember being nickle and dimed there. For example, we were there having a white truffle tasting at the chefs table. Dinner was wonderful until we got the bill. Even though the prix fixe was around $150 per person- which we had no problem with as everything had white truffles from Alba, they actually charged us for expressos and coffee during dessert- It really irked us that they needed to add another $20 to an already expensive bill. Oh well...you live and you learn.

I don't thnk that would be considered being "Nickel and dimed" Coffee, tea, etc is either included as part of the meal or it's not. If it's not included then there is an expected charge.

Nicholas in Middletown, very expensive, but worth every dollar. Incredible.

My first and best meal at Nicholas. It is a great experience especially for a Chowhound. They tailor the menu to your likes and dislikes. Certainly expensive but IMHO well worth it.
