Mushrooms

I have a large pack of sliced mushroom (costco) and need to do something and maybe freeze for a later day or so. I was planning to saute them with garlic and then freeze them.Has anybody done this , do they hold well??
I dont have much experience with mushrooms , what do you do , when you have more than necessary and cant finish it??

If you chop them up and then saute with onion you will have created a duxelle which can be used to make a mushroom cream sauce or to be stuffed in pork chops, chicken etc. The trick is to saute it until it is almost dry--then it freezes very well. I used mine in a tuna noodle casserole last week and it was excellent.

Yes! definitely duxelle! Very easy to do in a big batch and freeze for quick later use.
