Bachelorette party in Newport, RI?
Does anyone know of nightlife that would make for a good bachelorette party in Newport in June?
I'm getting married in mid-June in Newport--I fell in love with the venue the second I saw it! My groom and I met at Brown, and Newport has always seemed like a gorgeous dream destination to us. Problem is, we have lived in Providence and Boston and now live in Sharon MA, but we've never been in a position to tie one on in Newport (since we've always had to drive a good distance to get home).
So the bridal party is all from California, and is sort of at a loss for where to plan a great girls' night out, and I'm not much better. We're between the ages of 21 and 27, and have...shall we say...varying levels of modesty.
Any ideas would be so helpful--thanks, Chow!

Hi! I am hosting a bachelorette party for my sister in Newport. We are staying at the Atlantic House Inn in Narragansett since it is a lot less expensive than Newport. We are doing some pre-game drinking at the Coast Guard House near the hotel and then taking a limo into Newport. We are having our bachelorette dinner at the Mooring then hitting up a lot of the places mentioned previously in this thread! Happy Wedding!

Hi Sarah!
I actually work with Dockside & @ The Deck Restaurant & Bar in Newport! If you haven't made your plans for the evening, we'd love to talk to you about what we have going on and see if we might be what your looking for. My email is ryan@rbeventproductions.com, if you e-mail me we can chat or I can give you my cell that way if it's easier as well.
Congrats on your engagement!

I have coordinated or been to many bach parties in Newport.
Dancing at the Boom Boom Room (in the Clarke Cooke House), at the Club (above the Pelham), POP or Rhino Bar. (In my own personal order)
Drinks at the Deck (formerly West Deck), the Star Bar (above Starbucks - enter on side), the Pelham or 41 North (the old Christie's, pricier but a classic Newport "hang"), The Landing or Christie's (behind Salas - more modern lounge that its predecessor). Dinner/Drinks at the Tiki Hut of the Salvation Café then dancing at Pops (both Broadway) is an option too. There could also be a fun cover (or original) band on at the Newport Blues Café.
For dinner check out Perro Salado or Salvation Café. Menus have a nice range (both $ and meals), good cocktails, funky décor, outdoor space, take reservations and both would satisfy philistine and foodie appetites. Perro Salado totally walkable to all the downtown clubs - Salvation is too, but in heels, with lots of girls you might want to call a cab (about 5 blocks to Washington Sq, which is about 5 blocks to the Pelham or "heart" of downtown). The first cab you get into, get the drivers # or card and call him the rest of the night if you go from one hood to the next. And depending on how many people you are rolling with, it might be worth calling ahead to some of the dance places (esp smaller ones like the Boom Boom Room to give a heads up. They're usually accommodating.. If you can get a hold of hostess or manager that is)
Hangover eats in the AM at Corner Café, the Speakeasy or Franklin Spa.
Have fun and report back!
PS: Locals.... I was thinking of Pink. I know its closed. Has it changed hands? That was a fun and almost secret place with great music for dancing.
