Need a cajun/creole restaurant recommendation for this week!!

I am heading down this week with my boss and need a GREAT cajun/creole suggestion...money is not a factor...

He mentioned:

Commanders Palace
Emerils
NOLA
K-Pauls

How is Mr. B's?

On the whole, Mr. B's is worse than all the other places you have listed.

actually Bon Ton is a good cajun choice, not a good creole choice.

in case the OP doesnt realize, canjun and creole are two different styles of cooking. most new orleans fine dining is creole or creole influenced, while cajun is a rarer rural LA style. of cajun places in the city, a couple are usually mentioned: K-Paul's, Bon Ton, Cochon.

were i in your position, looking for a "higher end" cajun place, I would recommend K-Pauls - it would be BY FAR a more cajun recommendation than any mentioned

Agreed, K-Paul's for Cajun. If the menu doesn't strike you NOLA is around the corner and Mr. B's is down the block. I think they both have menu's posted and can probably handle 2 walk-ins without too much delay.

Those are all standards & you'll be fine with any of them....Commander's is the one I send people to when they want to be cosseted, pampered and Made To Feel Special. Emeril does really good work. K-Paul is the Cajun approach, a different animal than creole.

It's OK..everyone loves the BBQ shrimp and it is good, I will admit. But I don't frequent the place..I'd rather be at Galatoire's.

Out of those, Emeril is likely to have more cajun-type stuff...he's had etouffee over there. Muriel's probably has something to cater to the tourist trade but damn if I can think of anything specific.
