New Fortune dim sum - The trick

[Mister Big]

is to sit near the kitchen. Having found New Fortune a little hit-or-miss on my last few visits, I made a point of getting seated near the kitchen yesterday. The results: dim sum that was hot, fresh, and delicious. New Fortune is also more reasonably priced than my other favorite, Hollywood East.

I also find them hit or miss. If you get there at or even just before 11, you might find yourself swarmed by carts. Not always a bad thing, but we were waiting for the rest of our party and didn't want it all to get cold before they got there.

It's a lot more hit than miss, and with the deterioration in Hollywood East since the move, they're still far and away the best dim sum in the area.
