Going to Bishop for work in a few weeks. Where do you recommend eating? I am looking for a moderately priced ($25) dinner and lunch. Thanks.

Avoid Schatt's - yeah, yeah I know it looks cute, but it is just downright awful with the worst bread anywhere. IMHO ;-) Whiskey Creek on the main street is as fairly priced as any place else and you get a bit more charm for their standard menu items. No real dining secrets in this town. Plan on eating; not dining here. Look for the place with the most visual appeal and expect standard items cooked with little distinction. And there is nothing wrong with that. There are some American cafe classics like a good burger that usually is always is pretty good.

Thank you for the rec on Whiskey Creek. Had a great dinner there-- flat iron steak with garlic mashed potatoes. And the artichoke spinach dip. I would definitely go back if I were in town again.

Just ate at a great little Thai reastaurant in Bishop. Apparently it is known and frequented by the locals. The menu is simple but the food is fresh and delicious and cooked to order. It is in an unexpected location, the local airpot. Off the beaten patth from Main St. The view to the outside is magestic mountains and i am sure you will get to see the odd small taking off and landing. A little gem of a place called Thai Thai.
