Goat?

Hi Everyone! Planning a dinner with an entree of GOAT. Very excited, hubby has a great recipe.

As much fun as I think it would be to go to every butcher in Philly trying to find goat meat, I figured I could save myself some time and just see if anyone here has any recommendations. I'm sure there are places in the Italian Market, but any recommendations would be most welcome!

I've seen it, frozen, in the butcher case at the Hong Kong Supermarket, near Adams and Rising Sun in the Northeast. Very reasonable too.

Thanks, ospreycove! I went there today and the selection of foods was pretty impressive for a relatively small place. Found some goat! Success!

I've gotten delicious goat from MB Farview Farm, which attends several local farmer's markets.

I have gotten some non-Goat products from that Farm in the Kimberton Whole Foods in Downingtown. Do you know of a market near Center City that carries MB Fairview Farm Goat? I know that the Fair Food Farmstand in RTM does not (nor does any other vendor at the RTM, for that matter). I also know that neither Whole Foods in Center City carry any goat (from any farm).

Try any Halal market all of them carry Goat, whole and retail cuts.

Cannuli's in the Italian Market carries goat, although it might be a special order. I know you can find goat & lamb at Makkah Market, 43rd & Walnut, West Philadelphia near The Restaurant School.

Aren't there a couple of Mexican butcher shops in the Italian Market? I bet you could get goat there.
