Gluten free in SF?

Hi there,

Visiting San Francisco and East Bay this week and have celiac. Any great suggestions for gluten-free dining? Thanks!

The Chron just had a report on this, and listed restaurants like Minako and Bacco that are accommodating to restricted diets.

    Look on SFgate.com

Yes, check the links. But wanted to mention Mariposa Bakery in Oakland. Also have a kiosk at Ferry Building in SF. Great place.

Minako is great if you like traditional Japanese - she can substitute tamari for any of her soy saucey dishes - I've been with a gluten intolerant friend. Cafe Gratitude (SF and Berkeley) is also a good spot. Many places are now very conscious so you shouldn't have a rough time unless you're in North Beach which caters to old skool Italian cuisine.
