Seriously good artisan ice cream in Barcelona

Gooseberry Apr 15, 2011 10:55 AM

hi there Barcelona Hounds
And can't miss ice cream shops in Barcelona? Not looking for weird flavors (foie gras, etc) just seriously good handmade seasonal stuff. Don't feel desperate for gelato since I'm going to Sicily in four days...
Thanks!

Gelateria Toscana and Tomo. Both are very good but not the variety as in Italy. As for Sicily, much of it is a bit sweet for my taste. A topic not much discussed on this board. Would love to hear about your experiences when you return.

I don't know the accepted artisanal ice cream shops. I admit to getting some whenever the mood struck, wherever was convenient. But...I did love all three of the ice creams, and particularly the blue cheese ice cream, at Formatgeria La Seu on Carrer Dagueria.
