Does anyone know where I can purchase this in Westchester?

I live in Los Angeles so I can't give you a definitive answer, but I've had some bakeris sell it to me. I've also found it in kosher markets in large blocks.

Bellantoni on Fulton St. in White Plains or any bread bakery.

Is Bellatoni a bakery? Does anyone else remember when you could get fresh yeast by Fleishmans in little foil packets in the refrigerator section? I wish I could find those again!!

Yes, it is a bread bakery. It may look like a factory but it is open to the public.

Thanks. I might give them a try, though I just saw on the Shop Rite web site that they have the Fleishmann's yeast in foil packets in their White Plains store.

Yes, I saw that, and I want to get there to get some for my Easter bread.

I did find fresh yeast at the Stop and Shop in White Plains. It took a while to find because no one knew what I was talking about. One clerk finally pointed me to the proper place, and if anyone is interested, it is in the dairy case in the back of the store, sort of opposite where the dried yeast is.

The Country Market in Eastchester on Rt. 22 has it in the dairy section.

That's great to know! It is a lot closer to me than White Plains!
