Texturas Products in Madrid

I will be in Madrid next month and was wondering f there are any retail stores in Madrid that carry the Texturas products from Adria?

  1. There used to be a store called that carried it, but they seem to have closed or moved their Madrid store (it was mainly a mail order spot that had a storefront on the Ronda de Toledo).

I don't think you'll find the Adria brand, but most of the in the know cooks who are into experimenting with these chemicals go to Droguería Manuel Riesgo on Calle Desengaño, 22. You won't get the fancy packaging (this store sells everything from resins to stuff to make silicone molds to pure pigments--it's a chemical store with a million little mysterious drawers, not a kitchen store). If you have a list of what you are looking for, I'll bet they have it, though--along with a whole bunch of interesting flavor/aroma essences:

I found this photo collage that captures the old school charm of this place:

It's just a few blocks from the Callao metro stop.

thanks for the link. I will check them out when I get into town.

I was hoping that the store was still open. Hopefully they moved to a new address. I will check with them and see.

    2. According to the website there is nothing in Madrid.
The entire world Distributors are listed here:

They have email addresses so try contacting your local distributor.

thanks. I found their list of distributors somewhat unreliable, They list one distributor in the US but thee are several retail channels where you can purchase their products in the US. I assume that the main distributor listed on the web site supplies many retails stores in that country. I tried to contact the spanish distributor to see if anywhere in Madrid the product might be carried but have not heard any response. Hence my post here.

I did visit the Barcelona outlet and the stuff was certainly there - albeit in 2006! So the list could be out-of-date.
