Peach-Flavored Coffee

Ok, at work they are offering "Seasonal" Peach-flavored coffee along with the standard vanilla/hazelnut/mocha, etc.

Is it me? Or does it gross you out a bit ....

Ew. No. Coffee beans and peach are NOT meant to be together. Coffee and chocolate, sure. But stone fruit-flavored beans? Ick.

Uh, no. Why can't coffee just taste like ... coffee?

Vanilla and hazelnut-flavored coffee grosses me out already; this does so in a slightly increased manner.

Generally I would agree with you, as most flavored coffees are cloying and sickening -- not just peach, but many hazelnut, etc. coffees as well.

However, in a case of "the exception that proves the rule" (regardless of what you think that phrase means), I direct your attention to the Notting Hill Coffee Roastery in Lewes, DE (near Rehoboth Beach -- a very chowhoundy area). They have an absurd number of flavored coffees, and somehow, they work -- at least the ones I've tried, which include apricot. if you are in the vicinity, check them out.

Sounds as disgusting as flavored vodka.

Somebody here - Caroline? - turned me on to Peach Vodka. Yum.

Any "flavored" coffee grosses me out. If you add something to coffee other than milk, it's not really coffee anymore.
