Rehearsal dinner in Beaches or Danforth
Hi everyone,
I've had a look at some of the previous discussions but can't find anything that fits with my situation so hoping you can help.
We are looking to have about 30 people at a wedding rehearsal dinner in Toronto in the Beaches or Danforth/Greektown or close by.
It will be on a Wednesday or Thursday in July and we hope to spend $15 per person on the meal itself, before drinks.
We'll have mostly non-adventurous eaters, so we're looking for a place that serves North American/European style food.
We would like a place that has a private room, and a low mininum spending requirement. Terroni has a minimum of $2,500, bringing the per person cost to more than the actual wedding!
The only other thing we ask is that it not be a pub, and not Il Fornello, where I've had more than one bad experience.
Hoping there might be something that fits this bill.

For $15, you are looking for an app, main and dessert. Is this correct? If so, I really don't think you'll find anywhere half decent in the GTA. You could try Melanie's Bistro near Woodbine & Danforth. They have a fairly small room and may be wiling to close that day for your event, but I think it would be more than $15--even if they could work out something more economical than others.

It's further west from the beaches, but still in the area and that's Le Papillon (1001 Eastern Ave.). It's French/Quebecois food. You can try them, but I'm not sure about the prices it may be over what you are budgeting for. There's also Sauvignon, which serves very good food, but I'm not sure if they can accommodate your numbers. Give them a call. I can't really think of any other place on the Beaches for a rehearsal dinner that fits your requests. There was a thread about the Beaches and the lack of good quality restaurants.
On the Danforth there's always Greek (Astorias, Mezes, Pappas Grill, etc.) which serves your staple meat and potatoes and can accommodate your more adventurous eaters (octopus, squid, different types of seafood, etc.). The Danforth may be your best bet.
