New to Palos Verdes - seeking recommendations

  • 3

As the title says, we're new to the area... looking for all kinds of recommendations, but particularly interested in good (authentic) Chinese food, Thai, Korean. Also pizza and bagels...

Any other suggestions/favorites are welcome!

We have a child with some food allergies, so tips of places that are particularly accommodating would be helpful too.

Thanks in advance!

Also, one of our CH SF brethren (Melanie Wong) who has been around CH longer than most did a recent series of posts centered around the San Pedro and Rancho Palos Verdes communities. Here's two such thread to take a look at by Mel: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/774672 and http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/774461

    2. chinese (none are thaaat good) but: shanghai palace (shanghainese), harbor palace (cantonese seafood)

japanese is actually rather good as there are many salarymen and first generation japanese in the southbay. my favs that are closest to PV are iccho, koraku, and curry house.

i've eaten pizza at lamppost pizza for the last 30+ years and it's a place where you can grab a pizza and beer and watch the lakers/dodgers game with the family.

i know that san pedro can be a little far depending where on the hill you live, so we tend to frequent torrance a bit more when i visit.
