singles food events?

I am very fed up with the online dating scene and am thinking it would be fun to go to some cooking classes that are specifically for singles - or chefs tasting events for singles etc

any suggestions along those lines?

if you are anywhere near the UWS, i recommend dining at Bello Giardino on 71st and Columbus. i realize you aren't asking for restaurant recommendations, but the bar seating at Bello is very conducive to meeting people. it's a small bar of maybe 6-7 seats, but it's always full with kind neighborhood folk. the two girls behind the bar, Megan and Erin (I think), are both absolute darlings.
