Best picks near Spoleto?

Hi Folks,

We will be staying for a week in Vallocchia, just outside Spoleto in mid-June. I have researched places in Spoleto and have several we will visit.

Anyone have any great reccs for outside of Sploeto? I've had one for Ristorante al Palazzaccio.

Any other tips would be appreciated.

Charles, if you don't mind, which restaurants IN Spoleto have made your list? I'll be there in late May. We'll be using public transportation so I'm not sure how many dinners we'll have out-of-town, as we like to totter home on foot after dining.

I'm looking forward to this place as I used to run a small cafe in Ontario and had a similar reputation for my front of house antics...

A review was just posted yesterday for Locanda Rovicciano near Castel Ritaldi which is near Spoleto. We will be in the area in June and it was recommended to me by someone who lives locally.

Since you will be in the area for an entire week, I would suggest contacting the winery Caprai and seeing if you can do a cooking class with Salvatore Denaro. He used to run the restaurant Bacco Felice in Foligno, which has closed. He's now 'chef in residence' at Caprai, and great fun.
