I had people comming over and threw a brand new unopened bag of King Auther Flour into a big pot to clear space on the counter. Forgot about it and the pot I thew it in was on top of my mini pizza oven which gets really hot on the outside. Dough!
Any chance its still good? Smells ok, package is not burnt but was hot and a little stiff on hot side. Is is ruined, should I toss?
It should be fine. How would it be ruined?
I know that when flour is cooked as for a roux, the darker the roux gets, the less thickening ability the flour has, but if the bag wasn't even toasted much less the product inside, I don't think there was enough heat to really affect the flour.
