Breadcrumbs Apr 12, 2011 09:45 AM

Could we get a "Bottom of Page" button?

Don't know if others have raised this but it would make life a lot easier, especially for iPad viewing.

iPads have scrolling with momentum. I've never found scrolling long pages an issue.

tommy do you have an ipad, do tell me your method. The fastest I've found thus far is to use a sweeping motion from the bottom left of the screen to the top right. Nonetheless, its far slower than the quick tap of the menu bar to take me to the top of any page.

I have often thought this would be a great idea

ipads have inertial scrolling. just a couple of quick swipes gets you to the top or bottom pretty quickly.

to get to the top instantly just touch the very top of the page.

this is a browser issue really, and most broswers have shortcuts for getting to the top or bottom of a page (rather than every website having to implement the same exact functionality).

tommy, as I mentioned, getting to the top isn't an issue at all. I fully understand inertial scrolling. For long threads and forums in particular, it is especially inefficient.

If you have an ipad and have a quick solution I'd appreciate it. Sincerely.

thanks tommy. None of the other sites I frequent would require me to do so which is why I've appealed to CH to install a "bottom of page" button.

I did enquire about the option you've suggested (at an Apple store btw) however it was an "unrated" app and not recommended without feedback. Do you have and ipad? Are you using this app w success?

It's on the itunes store. It works, and it's fine. Although my finger works pretty well too. I agree apple should implement something. The new OS has very fast inertial scrolling, which is sweet. My older mac doesn't have it, and it's frustrating.

Agree, it is a browser and a hardware issue not each site's issue. And get those fingers moving faster, pedal them get those pages moving!
