Drinks near Sheraton Boston pre high school reunion
My 25th high school reunion is looming and what I want to know is this: Where is a good place to have a drink and meet up with some friends before heading over to the Sheraton Boston for the reunion festivities and maybe after, too?

I sure hope your reunion isn't the weekend after next, or you'll find yourself sharing the hotel with about 20,000 kids! Heh.
That said, I'd recommend Clio's bar. I do a gala at the sheraton every year, and we routinely head there aftewards. Their "classy tiki" drinks are actually pretty good.
I also heard a Max Brenner's opened near there...havent tried the Boston location yet myself, but I remember the one in NYC had some delicious chocolate cocktails.

Agree on the Brasserie Jo rec. If you're heading to Towne, note that the first-floor front bar is really noisy and hectic; the rear bar is less nuts.
Also consider the bar at Lucca Back Bay, Back Bay Social Club (not extraordinary cocktails, but pleasant atmosphere), Bukowski (tiny, very casual tavern with an impressive beer selection), 5 Napkin Burger (surprisingly decent drinks and atmosphere), City Bar at the Lenox Hotel, the Oak Bar at the Fairmont Copley Plaza (a grand old hotel bar that appears headed shortly for an, ick, casual/modern makeover).
I think the bar at Clio has the best cocktails nearby at the moment, but I'm not sure when its planned renovations start, and it is a bit on the self-serious side (not a bad thing, in my book).

re: okra
I'd say, don't skip the reunion. A few more years of Facebook, and no one will go to them anymore.
