What are your Favorites @ Dim Saam A Go Go and Sakaya

Well, we finally decided to go with DSAGG for our birthday lunch in the park and now I'm having a really hard time choosing the menu items. The truth is there's a lot of very good choices and Chef Richard tells me I can pick anything off the Sakaya menu, as well. What are your favorites and what do you think would be a good combination? I'm thinking like four items per person. The only thing I'm already sure about are the brussel sprouts. I would also like to have one non-meat item since some of the guests don't eat meat.

There are a lot of great choices. It is pretty hard to narrow down. What is the format? When you say four items per person, are you thinking that everyone will eat a small amount of several different things? If so, the chicken wings, pork buns and ribs are good for that kind of format. The Bulgogi Burger is great, but not easy to share. The short rib chunk'd tater tots (only on the truck menu, not on the restaurant menu) are great and have basically the same flavor profile as the burger, but may be more amenable to sharing. The brussel sprouts are good. I really like the dae ji pork with coconut rice, but that may not be as suitable for the kind of event I am envisioning.

A lot of the items that are 2, 3 and 4 per order, can be one item per person. So I'm thinking like maybe a pork bun, egg roll, the duck herb sandwich or a choice of the duck or the short rib tater tots, brussel sprouts and rice kind of thing.
There's really too much on the menu to choose from.

I'd go with 2 wings, a rib, a pork bun, a portion of the short rib tater tots and some brussel sprouts. The coconut rice is very good too and is available as a side dish. The egg rolls are good, but not great IMO. For an appetizer item like that, go with the dae ji pork croquetas (on the truck menus, but not the restaurant menu).

Can you go with the whole menu? :-P

Aside from the list above -- which sounds like a stellar party menu -- I'd recommend the kimchi spring rolls. They sound plain, but they're fantastic and would hold up well served outside.
