ISO bone-in Smoked ham

I am trying to find a bone-in smoked raw ham to cook for Easter. Searched the board and it seems there was only talk of the cured or fresh non smoked types.

I am located near Leslie and 401 - don't mind a short drive around the town.

I get Smoked Pork Picnic shoulder at European meats in Kensington Market on Baldwin St. Pretty cheap and very tasty. You need to soak it overnight though, change water a couple of times over that period to get rid of some of the salt. Good eats.

I also seen these at Food Basics before but the one I buy has always been from Kensington.

You should find these at various delis as well. There's a polish/european deli called ABC Euro Deli on Sheppard east of Pharmacy http://www.abceurodeli.com/. I would think they might have something like this as well. Give it a shot before you go downtown unless you're down there anyways.

Fresh from the Farm only has non smoked versions otherwise it would have been great.

Website from ABC Euro Deli didn't seem to offer any raw version - not sure if raw smoked ham is an oxymoron but I would prefer to cook it myself but hoping for more smoked flavor. Thanks for your help anyways.

I have definitely eaten smoked ham from Fresh from the Farm. They have them at special times of the year. I found them on the Easter order page:

        1) Go to this link:
        http://freshfromthefarm.ca/order/#cat-47

        2) Click "Order Your Food"

        3) Click "Pork: Smoked & cured hams and more" in the left column under the heading "Meat"

It is really worth the effort. After the juicy, tender ham I had from FFTF, I really would be loathe to shop elsewhere without a serious recommendation.

Smoked Picnic shoulder from Kensington, or the refined deli products from ABC Euro Deli, are totally different from a smoked Easter ham. Fresh From The Farm does offer this, at $3.95/lb, not a bad price.

I felt like it was an excellent deal the times I've purchased ham at FFTF, given the quality. The trick is to not overcook. My results with their ham have been beyond anything else I've ever eaten at my home or elsewhere.

I think you have answered a crucial question about smoked ham: how much cooking. This ham from FFTF is apparently smoked to completion, and just needs reheating to 140F or so.
I have seen other country hams that are raw near the bone and need extensive cooking.

So is this ham from FFTF a raw product or a cooked / reheat product. I'd be worried about serving some that is raw near the bone. Ham is odd shaped a somewhat difficult to cook IMO.

Smoked to completion is safe. You would have to ask FTFTF what internal temp. they achieve, just as you would ask that of any commercial ham, product. Usually it will say "fully cooked, ready to eat". What I gather from the FFTF website is a ham fully cooked to completion.
As I mentioned, there are country hams that need further cooking, but this apparently is not one of them.

I don't recall mine being fully cooked to completion at the time of purchase, though that is possibly how they do it now. It was still quite soft to the touch, and I definitely treated it as though it needed to be fully cooked.

LUV TO EAT -- I just used one of those leave-in thermometers and found it worked beautifully.

I highly recommend Fresh From The Farm. Best ham I ever ate. You will likely need to order
        In advance.
