oh, no! I had planned to bake a loaf cake tonight using a Nigella L. recipe. My husband could not find self raising cake flour. How can I make it using a cake flour? Any substitutes to make it "raise"? Thanks!
Baking powder for one.
I finally found this too from old posts..http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/469628
A common ratio is 1 tsp of baking powder per cup of flour. Self rising flour also has salt, though it probably is less significant in a cake than in biscuits.
