Seeking nice non-Casino restaurant within 20 miles of Norwich

for 3 college girlfriends (none of whom are me, but one may be my DW) who get together every year to reminisce about what was and about what might have been.

Under $30/head (not counting wine/tax/tip).

Sushi places need not apply.

Many thanks!

I really like the Harp and Dragon! They did alot of renovations in the past year and doubled their size. Great menu as well with better than average cooking, always great service (if not a game nite) and very well managed pub style spot

Also - one of the FEW places around that makes Shepherds Pie with Lamb - and enough to take home for the next day to boot.

They used to have one night a week they discounted their menu before 6 pm - not sure if they still have that -

Harp and Dragon does have great food, but it's pretty casual. For something a little more upscale (albeit completely different), I would recommend Olio in Groton. It's super easy to find. The menu has a great variety, and the food is fantastic. Virtually all of the restaurants in Mystic are good, but the drive from Norwich feels pretty long.

They are Norwich Spa-ing next month, and are willing to go up to 20 miles in any direction for dinner. If you can catch them and keep up with them, you can certainly join them.

I am tired just thinking of it..... in that case I agree with the Mystic suggestions

My choice would be Noah's in Stonington. Nice, casual, great food (mostly seafood)

Another favorite is Captain Daniel Packer Inne and Pub in Mystic . Eat downstairs in the pub and get fancy upstairs food at half the price. Comfortable casual atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Very good food and a broad menu.

Agree with CCG re Noah's and DPI. Would also add Tony D's in New London....great Italian....but also nice seafood preparations such as sole florentine, etc...
