Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Manhattan

Looking for a decent priced eatery Union Square and down

I have a business meeting and I need a place where its NOT noisy with a good choice menu. Nothing pricey, meaning overpriced but someplace with really good food, anything except Thai and Mexican and definitely not a touristy place.

Suggestions would really be welcomed. Looking in the area of Union Square going toward downtown eastside.

  1. Gotta be more specific. Can you tell us how many people and what you hope to spend, including tax, drinks and tip?

Something like Gramercy Tavern is my first thought, but I don't know what your definition of "pricey" is.

    1. Is this lunch or dinner? When is this for? How many people are invovled?

"Decent priced," "not pricey, meaning overpriced" can mean different things to different people depending on their bank accounts. So, it would be more helpful if you would give us your per person budget for *food only*, keeping in mind that you will have to add the cost of beverages, almost 9% tax, and 20% tip.

ETA: I see loratliff and I cross-posted with the same request for specifics.
