Kung Pao Bistro reopens today following its relocation to 11402 Ventura Boulevard, in the center with Video West, etc., in the space where Fat Jack's used to be.

    1. I went by there yesterday and had no idea that they had moved. I'm not sure where the new place is; not familiar with video west or fat jacks. Are they closer to Laurel or further away?
They've been my go-to Chinese place since they opened.

About 1/2 mile east of current location. At Tujunga.

Thanks, wiener. I'll give them a little time to settle in. Hopefully Jimmy has replaced the "Dragon Lady" behind the counter with a human.

      2. Fat Jack's is gone? Wow. I probably haven't been there in over a decade (as I no longer live near there), but it's still a shock. That place had been around forever (it predated my move to the neighborhood in 1977). I remember when it was just a free-standing building, before that shopping center was built, and the scrolling marquee that announced their (slightly off color) slogan: "Best Meat in Town. If you can't eat it...beat it."

last owner was the 3rd owner in the past 5 years, and thus the decline.
Was not the same operation you remember.
