Suggestions? Food & Live Music - the Austin Experience

My mother and a friend are visiting this coming weekend and they want 'the Austin live music experience". I want to make it a food and music experience.
This is what I am envisioning, I just need to know where to find it.
-a somewhat quiet, low key environment (our guests are in their 60's)
-outside seating preferable
-food that says 'austin' in some way
-at least 1 vegetarian or seafood option available
-preferably a band - not just a guy/gal with a guitar
-maybe a spot where a few folks might get up and dance - not necessary
Thanks!

I was looking for a similar location to take my 60ish mother when she was here in December. We went over to the Broken Spoke for dinner around 7pm on a Wednesday, but it was very crowded and the median age was about 90. We ended up at Artz Rib House right down the road and had a great time!

Artz has live music every night and though I've never tried it myself, I've seen other recommendations on this board for Artz vegetarian sides. There are a few things that don't meet your requirements. There's outdoor seating, but I've never seen anyone sit outside. The band always plays inside. Also, I've never seen anyone dance.

After we ate dinner at Artz, we went over to the Continental Club and heard more live music. There was a nice mix of different ages, some seating and people dancing, but there is no food, only drinks.

    Good luck with your search!

Threadgill's Gospel Brunch would fit that and has lots of veggie choices.

If your guests will be in town on a Thursday, I think Shady Grove's live music series has started for the year.

The other place off the top of my head is the Broken Spoke. Not sure if there is much in the way of vegetarian or seafood options. I believe their menu is on their website.

Another option is the Oasis. I believe they have live music on weekends, and it's a nice place to take out of town guests for the view. I'm sure they have some vegetarian and seafood dishes, although a warning, they're not known for great food.
