KFC Hot Wings -- puny and not very hot

I got dragged to KFC by my kids on Saturday and ended up panic-ordering the Hot Wings meal. Bad choice. Five tiny wings that had barely any heat, and gluey mac&cheese.

The kids' chicken strips were more batter than meat.

KFC never fails to underwhelm.

My husband and son were very excited to try them when they came out. The excitement died quickly when they actually ate them.

So true! KFC Hot Wings are horrible! I purchased some recently and the wings had very little chicken attached while the drummettes were really fatty with hardly any white meat. The chicken crust, while somewhat tasty, was not very hot or spicy. KFC's chicken wing pieces are clearly of poor quality and honestly the worst I have ever tried. I want my $10 plus tax back! LOL.

There's a KFC near me that has a Checkers right nextdoor. The wings at the Checkers are suprisingly good: they have both regular and extra hot and they're superior to the ones at KFC, which is suprising considering Checkers specializes in burgers.

I am not familar with the KFC menu, I general think the fried chicken is decent in a quick fix. The sides are just UNEXCEPTABLE ... However, about 6 months ago , I was forced to eat there also. I got grilled hot wings-- came with maybe 10 wings. Not sauce covered. They were honestly GREAT.. Crisp texture , juicy meaty wings, with a real nice kick to them. Went back the next week to get some, and they were just as you described above.. I dont know if I just had a perfect batch or what the first time
