Easy stop for Thursday lunch in PDX?

Hi everyone -

Heading down the the wine country on Thursday and want to stop for lunch in PDX. Probably avoid downtown/pearl district as will be heading back to PDX for Sat and Sunday and staying at Hotel Deluxe (eating at Wildwood, Oba or Gruner, some places for lunch...)

So looking for something easy to get to off the highway that is really good. Have thought about the food carts up north (garden state, sugar cube...) but may want a sit down instead. Anything great up north/down south for lunch that we just shouldn't miss?

Thanks!

You actually can sit down at those food carts (there's covered seating or you can eat in the bar next door, Prost), though the Sugar Cube isn't there any more.

Tasty and Sons is a pretty great idea - amazing food and usually not so busy during the day. Down south, you could try Olympic Provisions or Bunk.

We recently stayed at the The Hotel Deluxe for 4 nights and dined at Wildwood, Oba, and Gruner, also. They are all fantastic choices for meals. One place you might really want to consider is Little Bird, in downtown Portland, right across the street from Portland City Grill. Meriwether's is also fantastic. Portland has an amazing restaurant scene! :)

On Alberta you have Pine State Biscuits...

On N Williams you have Tasty and Sons...
