HELP! Chowhound recommendations for Wilshire/Western area?!

I haven't hung out in Koreatown in quite a while.

Was wondering what are some great, reasonable places to eat in the Wilshire/Western area.

Any great lunch deals? Thanks!

  1. Myung Dong Kyo Ja for kal guk soo (or Korean fettuccine)

Kalbi Burger for the hot dogs (of all things)

    MaPo for bi bim bap

And of course Kyochon and Tahoe Galbi are right around that intersection as well.

Thanks, ipsedixit! I've been to Kalbi Burger and like it. Will investigate Tahoe Galbi... which sounds like a BBQ place.

    2. I second the rec for MaPo (the one on sixth and Normandie right?) but would expand your list of great dishes to include their soon tofu and dough flake soup at least.
I don't think they have a lunch deal, but their soups aren't too expensive and the panchan is great

They have a 5.99 lunch deal with your choice of bi bim bap or noodles and all the banchan you can eat. Not a bad deal.

          I stand corrected. That's a great deal

I would pay that much just for the banchan ...

      2. In addition to the many great suggestions you've go so far, there's Pal Cabron (8th and Normandie) for cemitas, Western Soondae for blood sausage and Hanbat Shul-Lung-Tang (5th just west of Western) for their wonderful beef soup.
