Graduation Day Brunch in Bethesda, Georgetown or DuPont

My daughter will be graduating from American University in a few weeks (on a Saturday). After the ceremony we'd like to take the family to a nice brunch/lunch in the Bethesda, Georgetown or DuPont Circle. We're expecting 10-12 people. All suggestions appreciated.

  1. Here's a somewhat similar thread I started.

We ended up at Blue Duck Tavern and enjoyed ourselves.

    1. I've enjoyed brunches at the Tabard Inn, Founding Farmers, Firefly and while it's in Friendship Heights, not Bethesda (but closer to AU!), Lia's has a very good brunch. Lia's also has a lot of outside space should the weather and your interest be inclined.

      1. First off congrats to your daughter on her graduation!

I'm not as familiar with the Bethesda dining scene but a few places in the Dupont/Georgetown area you might want to check out are Ris, Tabard Inn, Blue Duck Tavern, Cafe Dupont, and Darlington House. Either way this is a large group on a busy day....I would make a reservation ASAP.

        1. re: Elyssa

The only place I can think of offhand that does Saturday brunch in Bethesda is Mon Ami Gabi, which I'd say is ok-- not bad but not particularly good.

And I echo Elyssa's congrats and good luck!
