Roman restaurant outside of Rome

Would like some suggestions for a Roman restaurant on the outskirts of Rome. We will be driving. We will be staying our last night in Fiumicino but would like a good Roman meal before we leave....without going into Rome.

Try to call Oste della Bonora in Grottaferrata! It is in the Castelli Romani area about 25km from downtown.
I can add something more tomorrow if you need additional information.

Is this a place you see yourself going to from your hotel in Fiumicino, or one you might visit on your way there from Naples?

either...we are quite comfortable driving in Italy. We may decide to make a stop on our way down from Pienza towards Sorrento for lunch instead of our last night if we can't find a place.

Well, fiumicino is famous for fish restaurants, it is where locals go to to have fish. I heard of two places there that have amatriciana, but not good. Thebest amatriciana i know is in rome where you don't want to drive into. I am afraid i can't recommend more. Or wait, if you are willing to drive there is anna.... Wait, i don't remember the proper name of the restaurant, will look it up and write again.

Osteria Di san cesario. It is about 35 miles from fiumicino on the other side of rome, but you don't have to drive thru rome.look it up and see if you want to do that. Very very good roman food, including amatriciana.

If you're planning dinner on Easter Sunday, call before going, wherever you decide to go. Very many places are closed for Sunday dinner, and possibly even more are closed for Easter Sunday dinner.

I wasn't aware you were talking about easter sunday, nor that you had already asked a similar question. You most probably can't do both (lunch & dinner), for practical reasons.you already got an answer to your lunch question. Let me see if any of the places on the as di sole closer to rome have easter sunday dinner.... but like zerlina pointed out, no matter where, you'll need to call ahead.
Also, where are you seeing that they offer a special menu and why would that be a bad thing?

Cesario, the place you suggested. Easter dinner special menu does not have the traditional roman foods offered. I did not ask a similar question....my other question had to do with lunch time, traveling between naples and rome. I am looking for a Roman restaurant for dinner before we leave the next day...why can't we do both????

Lol, i was speaking of a purely practical angle - my respect, if you can have easter lunch and easter dinner in two different restaurants and not explode. I am thinking you will be not even thinking of dinner come dinner time and that this discussion will be futile.
Yes, i understood cesario, but i can't see anywhere that they offer a special easter menu, though it is likely, even without seeing it. But i can't imagine the menu not having traditional roman foods - anna cooks almost exclusively roman! So, do tell me, where are you seeing that menu?

We are not looking for a big Easter Dinner, only dinner, which to us can be just a plate of pasta, we always have room for that...I thought I saw it on Cesario's website, but I will look again. thanks!

Maybe you would be interested in Batali's take on the area, which I came across.
http://www.mariobatali.com/exploreita.... Perhaps Monumento in Ostia Antica would be open. If it were me tho, after a nice leisurely Easter Afternoon lunch all I would want was some pizza - or maybe the porchetta trucks Batali refers to will be around. Any info on where these would be?
