Manchester, NH "Eats Week" : 4.10-4.14

While the offerings don't seem too enticing, most of them are pretty cheap. There aren't too many places on the list I am interested in trying out, and some that I would go to don't really have any specials that make me want to go and try them out this week. I think I'm going to go for 900 Degrees...I know it hasn't gotten the best reviews, but we're still curious about them. Their special was also pretty cheap, and it seems like a great place to go to with kids.

Anything anyone else is going to check out?

  1. Went to FireFly Bistro for lunch... and waited 1 HOUR and 18 MINUTES for my fish and chips, which arrived burnt to a crisp. I also watched 2 tables get up and walk out after waiting more than an hour for their food (and one couple even called the waitress over 3 times telling her they were on lunch hour and could they inform the kitchen)

I was very concerned after booking a brthday party for 8 @ Firefly and then reading this and almost switched our reservations. They assured me that a 5pm reservation wouldn't b a problem but that in fact when they are slammed @ 7pm, timing is a prob they are wrking on. Anywho, OMG FANTASTIC MEAL. I Must say I started w/ the best soup ever (wish I had gotton the bowl) - Tuscan white bean with anduille sausage (smoky, creamy,zippy,thick-perfect w/ bread), my meal was an app of seared ahi tuna that was fantastic. One sister got that cheese fondue bread....all I can say is mmmmmmmm. Hubby loved his fried goat cheese on spinach salad, scallops (broiled, simply prepared and delish), dads steak tips were "outstanding", brother in law loved the calimari, brtday girl loved her prime rib. We all would def go back! They were swamped as we left @ 6:40....and I can see where timing could be an issue.

When they are on their game the food is fantastic, I love the fish and chips there... when they are not slammed. If I see a full lot again, I will opt for another lunch spot (most likely Republic or Richard's)

      2. I suppose I should be thankful that we had to bring our kids and therefore went early for dinner. We did go to 900 Degrees, and we were really glad we did. I'm only sorry we hadn't tried it sooner. Now I have a place to go to when I want to go out for pizza. If I weren't so tired I'd write a proper review...I'll revive one of the old 900 Degrees threads soon.
